Diana was born in Salt Lake City, UT in April of 1983, and her family moved all over the place from there. The youngest of four and the only girl amidst ruffians made her little feet hit the ground running, and the toughest girl in town. She had to learn to fight, bite, spit, curse, and tussle with the best of them just to survive. Even so, all the little neighbor kids would press their noses to her sliding door each day wanting to know what sort of adventure Diana would come up with next. As it turns out, the toughening up and imagination was conditioning her to be the young mother of seven! What started out as imaginative play, dodging mom and dad, and telling stories at sleep overs became her dearest passion- Spinning yarns and inventive tales into books for others to read is a dream come true for her.
Her favorite part of writing is discovering her characters as she writes them. She's always loved observing people in all their quirky idiosyncrasies and how they interact with and affect other curious people. Her characters reflect these observations.
Some of the books she read as a child that first whet her appetite for reading were: Bruce Coville's "Unicorn Chronicles" and "Goblins in the Castle," Brian Jacques "Redwall," Lloyd Alexander's Prydain series and "the Arkadians," Roald Dahl's "Big Friendly Giant" and "James and the Giant Peach," C.S. Lewis' "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" series, Pam Conrad's "Stoned Words," and later wonderful books and artwork such as
James C. Christensen's "The Voyage of the Basset," and so very many others. Most of her vocabulary came from looking up words in her dictionary that she didn't recognize while reading. She also learned that illustrations could tell an amazing story all on their own.
As she got older and kindred spirits were hard to find, she spent most of her time sitting in trees, or hiding in empty rooms with pianos at church- as she didn't have a piano at home and dearly loved to play. She became very talented at walking on eggshells and making herself scarce while at home, but books took her to wonderful places during those times and made it all bearable.
She and her husband currently live Inbetween, where tall trees sing and their children listen raptly to her stories.

If you wish to see the world through an amber lens, how many things connect, how reality bends; then I suggest, with humble pride, you read the books in which lives reside. For warning, I give you but a sideways wink: You may meet engaging characters that are closer than you think...
